Adoption Information

It’s not what it used to be! Are you considering adoption?

Adoption is a worthy option to consider if you find yourself in an unplanned pregnancy and are concerned about how you would parent at this stage in your life. Adoption can be a good choice for both you and your baby. It provides a different, yet healthy way to parent and provide for your baby. It means you are able to pursue your life goals without the responsibility of parenting or the potential risks of abortion.

Creating an adoption plan gives you a number of choices:

  • You can choose a family for your child.

  • You can choose: an open, semi-open, or confidential adoption. These options include varying degrees of confidentiality and openness in the adoption process, so you can choose the one that’s best for you.

  • The decision to make an adoption plan can be made any time during your pregnancy or even after your baby is born.

You probably have many questions when thinking about adoption. Alpha Omega Center has great resources to help figure out if this is the healthiest option for you.

Open Adoption

You will have ongoing contact with your child and the adoptive family throughout and after the adoption takes place.

Semi-Open Adoption

Allows you to have limited communication to your child and the adoptive family. You can receive letters and photos of your child but the communication between you and the family would be mediated by an agency or a third party.

Confidential Adoption

In a confidential (or closed) adoption there is generally no contact with the adoptive parents before, during, or after your pregnancy. You also won’t receive photos or letters or have any communication with your child as he or she grows up.

The Choice is Yours

An adoption agency will help you choose an adoption plan that is right for you.  There are many different variations of the plans mentioned above and Alpha Omega Center will connect you with an agency that can help walk you through your options. By meeting with an adoption agency you are not promising you will make an adoption plan, you are only learning about this option. Nobody can force you to make an adoption plan for your child, the choice is yours.

Alpha Omega Center does not participate in the adoption process nor profit from any choice you make.

Alpha Omega Center provides accurate, timely information so that you can make the choice that is best for you.
